Peanut Butter and Jelly…
Kids love peanut butter and jelly. My kids are no different. Living in Tacoma until a year ago our kids woke up almost every morning wanting a waffle with peanut butter and syrup. It was a staple around our house. When all else failed, you could count on peanut butter and jelly! For Jacob it was peanut butter and, “bee.” (which meant syrup) For Ariel it was, “peanut butter and syrup please.” (rather sweetly and politely.) For Hailey, it is, “waffle with peanut butter, and no syrup! (rather intensely.) However, something happened when we stepped into the nation of South Africa that I never would have expected. It is possible to have too much of a good thing…even peanut butter and jelly. While living on a missionary’s budget as a team in Cape Town our kids ate peanut butter and jelly for almost every breakfast and lunch until they couldn’t take it anymore. Once we arrived back in Australia and Grandma brought two Costco sized jars of Peanut Butter they actually remained unopened until we finally gave them away to friends.
